After he won the Chevening Scholarship Award and graduated from the prestigious Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine with Masters in International Public Health, He returned back to initiate and operationalize DASA with focus on improving access to primary healthcare, tackling HIV/TB, Malaria, and other communicable diseases , and nutrition while incorporating the screening for non-communicable diseases and prevention and management of neglected tropical diseases(NTDs) through advocacy, strengthening capacity, monitoring, evaluation, and increasing accountability.
Dr Wani was later joined by a team of four dedicated multidisciplinary professionals to form DASA as a non-governmental organization registered with RRC in South Sudan.
